Build-creative world
Hi everyone,
I've been thinking about what I can help the server with and I've come up with the idea of a build/creative world.
I don't know if this already has been a topic or not. If so, sorry for that. If not however, I'd like to hear your opinions on this idea. My statement is that a build/creative world shows the true building skill of people. I mean, you'd be faster convinced to build something in creative mode then searching for the materials for hours to build it. Also, I have the idea of putting building ranks and so called "rating specialists" into this.
For example:
Mister/Miss X joins the build/creative world. --> rank 0
Mister/miss X builds a (nice) house. --> house get rated good. --> advanced to rank 1
And so on and so on...
But they would also have to make better structured, nicer, better looking to rank up higher and higher. (for example : castles, dungeons,...
This may look a bit to much for the server to take but I think I'd be good for perthcraft and to attract more people to it with good looking builds or whatsoever.

I really wouldn't like the prospect of giving somebody creative abilities..

Yes, but the players would be apart from the survival world and other builds from other players would be protected if possible.

Travelling using a warp doesn't get rid of creative abilities. Even if it were to be done, it would be very hard and a lot of effort would needed to be in the process. Spiddles rarely comes on and Swing is busy due to academic reasons. If a person were to sell diamonds in their creative and infinite inventory, the economy will burn and go down in flames. Ranks are all about money, once economy is dismantled, rank will not matter anymore. Gsus, creative is clearly out of the option as it's almost like making a person op, which has catastrophic consequences. I'm suggesting that the building world would be a protected area, similar to the event world in which others can't destroy;a continuation of an idea you brought up.

Depending on the plugin and settings the owners have set for the world, the inventory can be cleared upon exit or entry. The player will be required to empty their inventories into their chests.
The main problem is like you said, people taking things out and selling. However, you can't sell directly to the server. In the ChestShop plugin configurations, there is a function to disable interactions with Creative players. (This is only true if the players do not have the permission to do /sell <item> <quantity>)
The warp could always place a player on a pressure plate then activate some command blocks to switch their game mode then send them back to spawn.
Protected zones would be best for creative worlds and very large due to Creative.

I think this is a Great idea, I hate having to gather materials, and people like Gsus hate it too, we just want to build, lately ive been playing on a creative server so i could build freely, and ive been having alot of fun on it, and if Spids/Swing were to add a creative server it would help the server grow.

It is possible to warp to a creative world, get creative, warp back to survival, and be back in survival. I'm on plenty of servers that do that.
Anyway, I personally think the whole creative thing is a bad idea. Swing and Spiddles are suppose to set up the Donor world. That's where Donators or Rank 8 get into and have creative and freely build. I think that's where that is going, and not just giving free ranks to good builders. That's a bad idea, because players going to feel like they aren't good enough.
I think we just stay fair and just believe in the Donor World.
